Hop and Flop Rabbit Rescue is looking for a creative and proactive Social Media Manager to help us grow our online presence, engage our community, and support our mission. This is a part-time volunteer role (1-2 hours daily, flexible) and fully remote.
ABOUT OUR ORGANISATION
Hop and Flop Rabbit Rescue is a registered NPC in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming domestic rabbits, while promoting responsible rabbit ownership and welfare education.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain a social media calendar
Create, schedule, and publish engaging content across our platforms
Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions to foster community engagement
Leverage social media trends to grow our reach and following
Ensure all content is on-brand and aligned with the organisation’s ethics and goals
Flag sensitive or urgent enquiries to the Founder promptly
Work closely with the Fundraising Manager to promote campaigns and adoption profiles
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Essential:
Strong written communication
Organised and consistent with posting
Comfortable with social media platforms and trends
Ability to collaborate and follow approval processes
Attention to detail
Desirable:
Marketing, design, or digital media experience
Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Google Ads, Google Analytics, and/or social media management tools (Buffer, Notion, Meta Business Suite)
Understanding of ethical communication in animal welfare
Knowledge of responsible rabbit care
